Hey,
i am really worried (perhaps neurotic?) that my 8 month old male child has started rocking back and forth while sitting.  I accept seen that some people say this tin be an indication he is ready to walk or crawl however he has made no indication that he wants to crawl in fact he doesnt like being on his breadbasket for long!  He does yet always want upwardly on his feet.  When you take his easily to pull him up he goes straight onto this feet.  He can scoot about in a baby walker and sits upwards unaided for a while.   He has likewise started to bum shuffle (I assume) his manner from ane end of his cot bed to the other. He bends over to reach for toys and even to suck his toes.  This has only started in the final few days and its a bit distressing to meet it to be honest every bit i am thinking something must exist wrong.  I have never seen any other baby do this.  I have looked online and accept seen that it can be an early sign of autism and that has worried me even more.  Has anyone else's baby done this and if so, was it correct before they started to walk/clamber or was it something they grew out of relatively quickly?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

My 6 month sometime dd does the same thing but she isn't sitting solitary yet. I merely causeless that it's something she's discovered she can practice and at present the novelty has worn off she isn't doing it every bit much (she's my 4th infant). I don't remember information technology'south anything to worry virtually. Googling is sometimes the worst thing yous can do. Mention it to the hv or Medico though merely to put your listen at rest.

My LO did it and would scream really loudly and ear piercingly when she did - then inside a calendar week or so she was off and running (well comando crawling, 3 weeks after that she was crawling at full speed!!). Just be worried most how you can more quicker than they will!!

This is what I was going to inquire!

Our son used to do this at this age just he used to bang his caput against our radiator and he would besides rock dorsum and forth in his highchair.  His eyes would roll & he would sometimes "gurn" at me.  We exercise accept concerns over our son'due south behaviour and its ongoing but we are keeping an center on it.

If your child is not in distress and doesn't appear to be having some sort of fit then I wouldn't worry too much

no he doesnt do anything like that - no fitting or rolling optics etc. He merely rocks dorsum and forth.  He seems quite happy in himself so I am hoping its just a trivial thing he is gonna practice before itch/walking.  Lamentable to hear about your wee 1.  That must be worrying for you.

Thank you Tracey.  I accept been speaking to a couple of my mummy friends and they have said that I shouldnt worry at all and that its just him getting gear up to move like you say.  I feel quite silly now simply it only started out the blue and I immediately thought something was incorrect.

My baby does the same affair. She's turning 2 and she could already walk. She still does this thing. She looks like having discomfort while doing information technology. Is it something I should worry about?
